Customers Trying to Reach out Using Social Media

One thing that I have noticed a lot about customers is that they are trying to reach out to businesses, and that they love to leave reviews over the internet.  Many small businesses that are not using sites like Facebook or Foursquare can still find feedback on sites like the Yellow Pages and Yelp.  This feedback is very important, and can help a business owner to change something that isn't working right, or to expand upon something that is working.  Before Social Media, business owners had to rely on word of mouth or customer comment cards to see how they are doing, but now it is all at a click of the mouse.  Even more important to remember is that anybody can see the comments left, and they better do everything they can to make sure the comments are positive.

When a business creates a Social Media Campaign, they can ask for specific feedback on a product or promotion that they have.  They can also see if there is a comment that is out of line and delete it.  Comments like these happen, but you should not delete all negative or critical feedback, because you can show the public that you are doing something about the problem and invite them to see whether or not the problem is fixed.  The main thing to remember is that with social media you can see the feedback much easier than browsing all of the major search engines like Google to see what customers are saying about you.  Like they say in Field of Dreams "If you build it, they will come".  If you give your customers an avenue to leave feedback, they will come to your sites and do just that.
